Matt Barnes Arrested For Domestic Violence

SACRAMENTO (Gaeatimes.com) Los Angeles Lakers’ forward Matt Barnes has been taken into custody after being charged with domestic violence. The basket ball star was booked into Sacramento County jail on Wednesday afternoon, Sacramento County officials said in a statement. Although it is yet to be clear whether the player has actually committed the crime he has been booked for or not, the authorities of Sacramento County reported that they were compelled to arrest the player after receiving a 911 call from an undisclosed residence.

According to reports, the officials arrested Matt Barnes after responding to an emergency call. The officials discovered Matt Barnes along with a woman - both with visible injuries but took the former into custody believing that the player was the primary aggressor in the incident that took place. The officials declined to reveal the identity of the woman but stated that she was in a ‘dating relationship’ with Matt Barnes and that the player used to live with her. Other details regarding the alleged incident is yet to be revealed. The Sacramento County jail officials are keeping a mum over the whole incident.

Matt Barnes was booked on suspicion of domestic violence and trying to obstruct the telephone line when the woman tried to call the officials for help. Inside sources revealed that the player posted a $50,000 bond and was released later. He is slated to appear at the court on September 13, according to reports.

30-year old Matt Barnes signed a two year contract with the Lakers on July as a free agent. The deal is worth of $3.6 million.
