Coach at NIllinois hospitalized
DEKALB, Ill. — Northern Illinois football coach Jerry Kill has been hospitalized for dehydration.
School spokeswoman Donna Turner says the 49-year-old Kill was admitted to Kishwaukee Hospital early Sunday and was transferred to Northwestern Memorial on Monday.
Kill was treated for kidney cancer in 2005 while coaching at Southern Illinois. He had an unspecified surgical procedure performed on Sept. 3 and missed a Mid-American Conference coaches’ teleconference.
Kill was back at Huskies practice later in the week and coached last Saturday’s 23-17 victory over North Dakota. The team plays at Illinois on Saturday.
