Ex-girlfriend accuses former Mizzou RB of assault
COLUMBIA, Mo. — An ex-girlfriend is accusing former Missouri running back Derrick Washington of hitting her in the face several times over the weekend, leading to his arrest.
Police say they are investigating the latest complaint against the team’s one-time team captain.
The 21-year-old senior was charged in August with sexually assaulting a former tutor over the summer. He was kicked off the Missouri team about a week before those felony charges were filed.
In the latest incident, Washington allegedly refused to leave the 23-year-old woman’s apartment shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday. He was arrested at his apartment 90 minutes later. The woman had a swollen forehead and a bloody nose. Washington told police he had argued with her but denied hitting the woman.
His lawyer did not immediately return a call Monday. The university declined comment.
