MONTREAL (GaeaTimes.com)- The former National Hockey League head coach Pat Burns recently hogged limelight after his false death news spread like a wild fire in a reputed social networking site. The web world was plagued yesterday as the people were scrambling on web to get the latest information about the head coach of National Hockey League. However, Pat Burns rubbished all the rumors saying that he is still alive.
Bob McKenzie, a hockey insider took to the homepage of his social networking site, where her maintained that Pat Burns called him to say that he is not dead. The NHL coach jokingly said that people are trying to kill him before he is dead.The coach even complained that people have had him dead since June and he asked Bob McKenzie to tell them that he is alive. Pat Burns also asked Bob McKenzie to set the gossip mongers straight.
Pat Burns dead hoax started through a reputed social networking site and many Canadian newspapers also reported his death news. A reputed gossip portal reported that Senior advisor Cliff Fletcher of Toronto Maple Leafs told a group of reporters that Pat Burns passed away. Cliff Fletcher said that he had received a call from a friend who informed him the sad demise of Pat Burns. However, after the truth was revealed the senior advisor issued an apology statement for his wrong comments. Pat Burns is presently battling against terminal cancer and he is in his home on Quebec. In his statement Cliff Fletcher maintained that he extends his deepest “apologies” to Pat Burns and his family for his completely “inaccurate” public comments.
