Ex-Pak skipper Butt vows to make a comeback

ISLAMABAD - Suspended Pakistan Test opener and former Test captain Salman Butt has vowed to make a comeback to professional cricket despite the spot-fixing allegations that are threatening to end his career prematurely.

Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammed Aamer were all provisionally suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC) following allegations they had all conspired in the bowling of deliberate no-balls as part of a betting scam during the fourth Test against England at Lord’s in August.

All three have denied the allegations against them, and are to face a hearing in Doha next month.

Butt told Sky Sports that he was not thinking about never playing top-class cricket again.

“I would certainly not like to think like that. I still remain positive and I know what I am made of and where I have come from, and how I have played my cricket. Believe me, it has been a lot of passion all throughout my life. The love of the game has got me there and that love is bigger than anything, any corrupt thing, which exists,” he said. (ANI)
