LONDON - Blackburn Rovers’ new owners Venky’s have dumped the club’s manager Sam Allardyce.
The sacking follows Blackburn’s 2-1 Premier League defeat to Bolton Wanderers.
Talking about the decision, Venky’s Chairwoman Anuradha Desai said that Allardyce’s style of football was not what they want at Ewood Park.
“We had been talking to Sam for the past few weeks and he did not fit in with our vision for the club’s future. It is nothing against Sam, but we have a different vision and want the club to grow,” the Sun quoted Desai, as saying. We wanted good football, wanted the games to be interesting and, of course, wanted to win. We want Blackburn to be fourth or fifth in the league or even better.”We needed to make some changes and Sam going is the main change. his is a major step. But we thought ‘Why delay?’” she added.
Allardyce was appointed in 2008 on a three-year contract. (ANI)
