PERTH - England defeated Australia by seven wickets to win the third and final women’s one-day international at the WACA Ground in Perth on Sunday.

The tourists chased down the victory target of 213 with two overs to spare courtesy of dominant batting from Lydia Greenway (59) and captain Charlotte Edwards, who remained not out on 48.

Earlier, Lisa Sthalekar top-scored for Australia with 60 and shared a couple of valuable middle-order partnerships that helped the home side recover from a precarious 5-75 to finish with 212 from their 50 overs.

With Australia having won the three-match one-day series in Perth 2-1, the teams will now face off in two Twenty20 matches to be played on the same day as their male counterparts.

The first match is in Adelaide on Wednesday and the following clash in Melbourne on Friday.

The teams then play a further three Twenty20 matches in Canberra followed by a one-off Ashes Test at Blacktown Oval in Sydney. (ANI)
