GLENDALE (GaeaTimes.com)- Last night’s BCS title game made it evident how much the nation is mourning the death of the innocent victims who were shot on Saturday in Arizona. On Monday night, before the much talked about Oregon Ducks Vs. Auburn Tigers game, every one present at the University of Phoenix Stadium, Arizona paid tribute to the one who lost their lives in the Arizona shooting spree. The BCS which was a perfect start to the weekend had its fans all geared up to witness the action packed game between the top two teams.

Following the disastrous shooting incident on Saturday, BCS officials on Sunday had made up their minds to make some slight changes in the program schedule. The incident that shocked the entire nation made the game officials arrange for a tribute paying service before the start of the game. The tribute was paid just a few minutes before the game began. Everyone from the audience to the players, team officials and others present in the venue stood up and observed a moment of silence remembering all those who died in the tragic attack. While the victims were being remembered, special acknowledgements were also lent to Gabrielle Giffords, the top Congressional Democratic leader who is presently battling with her life after being shot in the head.

The BCS officials also made sure that the names of the six victims were read out. People prayed for the speedy recovery of those fourteen who are fighting for the lives after they were shot by the 22-years-old Jared Loughner inside a grocery store in Tucson. After offering silent prayers, the tribute was completed by a rendition of “God Bless America” sung by a choir.
