JOHANNESBURG - Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar has been ruled out of ongoing ODI series against South Africa due to a hamstring injury.
Tendulkar had suffered the injury during his 24-run knock in the second ODI in Johannesburg on Saturday, which India won by a run.
“Tendulkar will not take further part in the ongoing ODI series against South Africa due to a hamstring injury,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) press release, as saying.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel will be flown in as his replacement for the rest of the five-match series.
The series is currently tied at 1-1, with the third match to be played in Cape Town on January 18. (ANI)
