Saudi Arabian coach leaves after nine days on the job

DOHA - Saudi Arabian football coach Nasser Al Johar is no longer in charge of the team after just nine days on the job following his team’s disappointing 5-0 defeat against Japan.
Saudi Arabia, who were already knocked out of the Asian Cup after losing their opening two games at the competition, finished bottom of Group B without a point.
Al Johar was only appointed last Sunday after the Saudi Arabian football federation fired Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro after losing their opening game 1-0 to Syria.
It was the fifth time that Al-Johar, who was appointed technical director after stepping down as national coach in February 2009, was in charge of the national team.
Saudi Arabia has changed coaches 28 times in the last 20 years.
In a statement the Saudi football federation said that they had also accepted the resignation of the team manager Fahd Al Misaibeeh and promised they would employ experienced international coaches.
