Muralidaran says 20-20 will keep him busy after he quits international cricket

COLOMBO - Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralidaran has said that after retiring from international cricket he will keep himself busy through the Indian Premier League (IPL) and other 20-20 tournaments around the world.
Muralidaran had earlier announced that he would hang his boots after the 50-over World Cup in the Indian sub-continent.
“This World Cup will be my last outing. I am retiring totally from international cricket thereafter,” Fox Sports quoted Muralidaran, as saying.
“My time is up. I have signed up to play for two years in the Indian Premier League (IPL). I am also looking at similar work in New Zealand and perhaps England,” he added.
The 38-year-old, who had retired from Test cricket in July last year, is the world’s leading wicket-taker in both Tests (800) and one-dayers (517).
He had played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the first three seasons of the IPL, including their triumphs in the 2010 edition of the tournament and the Champions League in the same year.
He was bought by Team Kochi in the IPL auction held earlier this month for 1.1 million dollars. (ANI)
