LONDON - Sky Sports presenter Richards Keys has apologised to assistant soccer referee Sian Massey for the sexist comments he made about her.

Keys and co-presenter Andy Gray were dropped from Monday night’s program after the off-camera comments about Massey were captured on their microphones.

A Professional Game Match Officials spokesperson confirmed that Keys had telephoned the official and apologised.

The apology was accepted, Sky News understands.

It has been made clear to each of them that their comments were totally unacceptable.

The pair were recorded as saying that women “probably don’t know the offside rule”, when they were discussing the appointment of Massey to Saturday’s Premier League match between Wolves and Liverpool.

Gray was also caught discussing Massey in an interview pre-amble, during which her appearance is referred to. (ANI)
