Force India’s Paul di Resta gives up dancefloor after landing dream F1 job

LONDON - Force India’s new full-time driver Paul di Resta has revealed how he ditched the party lifestyle to make it to Formula One.
Di Resta now leaves brother Stefan to cut a dash on the dancefloor at Twig’s Nite Club, owned by dad Louis at Bathgate in Scotland.
“My brother is the one who holds up the dance floor these days. I used to spend a bit of time there when I was younger, but it was getting to the point where it was taking too long to recover,” the Mirror quoted Di Resta, as saying.
“I still enjoy a night out with the boys, but you have to be focused and level-headed,” he added.
The 24-year-old Scot, cousin of two-time Indy 500 winner Dario Franchitti, has stepped up from the test and reserve role he enjoyed last year, and will now partner German driver Adrian Sutil.
He also said that he is thrilled and looking forward to making his race debut in the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 13.
“Becoming an F1 driver has been a long-held ambition of mine, something I’ve wanted to do since I first stepped into a kart, and to finally realize it feels amazing,” Di Resta said.
“I’ve worked really hard for this opportunity throughout my career and to get it with Force India, a young team that has ambitions as big as mine, is genuinely exciting. I can’t wait to be on the grid in Bahrain. It can’t come soon enough,” he added. (ANI)
