No match at Eden Gardens, Pawar tells Buddhadeb

KOLKATA - International Cricket Council (ICC) president Sharad Pawar Sunday called West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and informed him that holding the India-England World Cup match at the Eden Gardens is not possible.

“Sharad Pawar called Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee at 7 p.m. and told him about the ICC’s decision that holding the match at Eden Gardens is impossible as eight members of the ICC were against it,” state Urban Development Minister Ashok Bhattacharjee said.
