NAPIER - Wellington left-arm spinner Luke Woodcock is still looking for his first international wicket after making his debut for New Zealand over the weekend.

In the match against Pakistan in Christchurch, he had to bite his lip as wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum missed a clear stumping chance off his bowling.

The McCullum miss left him with bowling figures of 10-0-46-0.

“The main thing is to try to get dot balls and still try to get hit in your areas. The majority of the time against [Hafeez] I thought I did that pretty well. It’s just trying to limit the boundary balls with him,” stuff.co.nz quoted Woodcock, as saying.

He added: “It was nice to get that first game out of the way and contribute with the ball and perform my role through the middle stages. Ideally we would have liked a result. I had a taste of the Twenty20s before Christmas, so in terms of the nerves it probably wasn’t as bad.” (ANI)
