LONDON - Red Bull Formula One driver Mark Webber, who lost a potential championship last year, has said that he wants ‘to get the job done this year’.

Webber had led the drivers’ championship for most of the season only to be pipped at the post by teammate Sebastian Vettel, who secured the title in the final race in Abu Dhabi.

“I am approaching this year head-on again. I have a great team of people around me to try to focus and improve upon what I did last year. There were a lot of things I did right,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Webber, as saying.I have a really good relationship with Christian [Horner, team boss] and Adrian [Newey, technician], and that’s good. I need that. The boys on the floor are absolutely sensational.”

“Of course you would be completely lying if you said it was all rosy … Clearly, it wasn’t and … we all learnt a lot from it,” he added.

The 34-year-old further insisted that he is looking forward to enjoying a productive relationship with Vettel.

“I see no reason to suggest why we can’t compete hard and fair against each other this year,” Webber said.

“Clearly, it got a bit hot under the collar at times. It clearly put pressure on to certain people at times, including the drivers,” he added. (ANI)
