Kenyan Cheruiyot wins Ottawa marathon

OTTAWA - Kenyan David Cheruiyot Sunday won the Ottawa Marathon in two hours 13 minutes and 23 seconds.

Ethiopia’s Wegayehu Girma was second and Morocco’s Ahmed Baday third.

In the women’s race, Morocco’s Asmae Leghzaoui won in 2:27:41 with Canada’s Lioudmila Kortchaguina finishing second. Kenya’s Irene Jerotich Kosgei was third.
