Asack kicked off Duke football team
DURHAM, N.C. — Former Duke starting quarterback Zack Asack has been kicked off the team.
Coach David Cutcliffe said Friday that Asack was dismissed immediately for an undisclosed violation of team policy.
Asack was entering his redshirt senior season after shifting to safety from quarterback during the spring.
It’s the second disciplinary action taken against Asack during his time at Duke. The Blue Devils’ starter at quarterback in 2005 was suspended for the 2006 season for plagiarism and returned in ‘07 as Thaddeus Lewis’ backup.
He started seven games as QB, throwing for 1,168 yards with seven touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
