Cardinals rookie WR Garvin has knee surgery

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Arizona Cardinals rookie Michael Ray Garvin will undergo arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt said the injury was diagnosed after the wide receiver reported soreness in the knee following Thursday night’s preseason game in Pittsburgh.

Garvin, a standout sprinter at Florida State and a cornerback-kick returner for the Seminoles, is trying to make the Cardinals roster as an undrafted free agent. Whisenhunt says he expects Garvin to be out a week or two.
