Knee improved, Tom Brady excited about opener
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Tom Brady is excited about Monday night’s opener and not only because it will be his first regular-season game in more than a year.
The New England Patriots quarterback who suffered a season-ending knee injury in last year’s opener said Wednesday it’s not the same excitement that a rookie might feel. It’s more that the game is another season opener against the division rival Buffalo Bills.
Brady noted he’s already played in three exhibition games and that’s given him a chance to face another team. It also gave him time to play with a brace on his surgically repaired left knee and he said he feels comfortable with it.
He said all the players are excited after a demanding training camp.
