Hofstra beats Bryant University 40-24
SMITHFIELD, R.I. — Cory Christopher threw for three touchdowns and 321 yards to lead Hofstra in a 40-24 win against Bryant University on Saturday.
Christopher completed 22 of 36 passes and threw an interception, Christian Dennis scored on an 86-yard touchdown return and caught one pass for a 45-yard score for Hofstra (2-0).
Dennis returned the opening kickoff to make it 7-0, and Christopher connected with Everette Benjamin on a 31-yard pass to put Hofstra up 14-3. Miguel Maysonet’s 8-yard run increased the Hofstra advantage to 21-3 and Christopher threw a 9-yard TD pass to Anthony Nelson to put the Pride up 31-10 with 1:23 to play before halftime.
Mike Croce was 14 of 37 with 209 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for Bryant (1-1).
Henry Greco also hit on field goals of 24 and 25 yards in the Hofstra win.
