EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants backup halfback Danny Ware dislocated his left elbow returning the opening kickoff in the season opener against the Washington Redskins.
Ware, the third back behind Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw, was hurt when he was tackled at the end of the 17-yard return. After being treated on the field, he walked to the locker room.
First-round draft pick Hakeem Nicks was on crutches late in the game after spraining his left foot in the fourth quarter. He had two catches for 18 yards.
