Traylor’s 114 yards keys strong running game as Alabama State knocks off Edward Waters 38-6

Alabama State defeats Edward Waters 38-6
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Rahmod Traylor rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown to lead Alabama State to a 38-6 victory over Edward Waters on Saturday night.
Traylor led the Hornets’ dominating ground game, which finished with 257 yards and three touchdowns. Jermaine Preyear added 52 yards and two touchdowns for Alabama State (3-0).
Preyear scored the Hornets’ first and final touchdowns on a pair of 2-yard runs, Traylor scored on a 2-yard run and Noel Alphonso had a 26-yard interception return.
Alabama State’s Chris Mitchell was 9-of-17 for 162 yards and a 20-yard touchdown pass to Tim Clark.
Brandon Turman threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Samuel Charles with 9:42 left in the third quarter for the only touchdown for Edward Waters (0-3).
Alabama State had five sacks and held Edward Waters to 66 yards rushing.
