Delaware State defeats Hampton 21-6
HAMPTON, Va. — Anthony Glaud ran for a touchdown and threw for another to lead Delaware State to a 21-6 victory over Hampton on Saturday.
Glaud was 20-for-31 for 150 yards and a 4-yard touchdown pass to Calvin Toliver that gave the Hornets (1-2, 1-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) a 14-0 lead with 3:25 left in the second quarter. Glaud’s 13-yard run had given Delaware State a 7-0 lead with 7:13 left in the first half.
Tahree McQueen rushed for 102 yards on 21 carries for the Hornets, who added a touchdown on Olusegun Ayanbiola’s 13-yard interception return with 1:10 remaining in the game.
Hampton’s LaMarcus Coker rushed for 135 yards on 16 carries, but Herbert Bynes threw three interceptions and was held to 155 yards passing.
Isiah Thomas caught four passes for 67 yards and had one carry for 55 yards for Hampton (2-2, 1-1).
