Bryant beats Robert Morris 20-13 in NEC opener
MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Michael Croce threw two touchdowns to help Bryant hold off Robert Morris 20-13 in the Northeast Conference opener for both teams on Saturday.
Croce finished 14-of-25 passing for 182 yards and Jerrell Smith finished with 111 yards rushing on 24 carries for the Bulldogs (2-1, 1-0).
Robert Morris (0-4, 0-1) took a 10-0 lead in the first quarter after Camdin Crouse scored on a 1-yard run and Garrett Clawson made a 37-yard field goal.
Bryant tied the game at 10-10 when Croce connected with Khalel Pritchard on a 9-yard score and Chris Bird kicked a 28-yard field goal.
Bird’s 21-yard field goal gave Bryant a 3-point lead to start the fourth. Mike Canfora caught an 11-yard touchdown from Croce, pushing the Bulldogs’ lead to 20-10.
