Minett, Crawford lead South Dakota State past Illinois State, 38-17

South Dakota State routs Illinois State, 38-17
NORMAL, Ill. — Kyle Minett ran for 152 yards and two touchdowns and Ryan Crawford threw for two scores and ran for another as South Dakota State rolled to a 38-17 victory over Illinois State Saturday night.
Minett’s 11-yard run midway through the second quarter gave the Jackrabbits (3-0, 2-0) their first lead at 14-10 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference game. With 52 seconds remaining until halftime, Crawford hooked up with Glen Fox for a 62-yard touchdown and a 21-10 margin.
Crawford finished with 197 yards on 17-of-28 passing. Minett’s 64-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter put South Dakota State up 38-10.
Cornerback Chris Garrett returned a Crawford pass 30 yards for a touchdown to give the Redbirds (1-3, 0-1) a 10-7 lead early in the second quarter.
