Charleston Southern routs Savannah State 47-10
CHARLESTON, S.C. — A.J. Toscano threw two touchdown passes to lead Charleston Southern to a 47-10 win over Savannah State on Saturday.
Toscano went 21-for-26 for 230 yards and led the Buccaneers (2-3) with 78 yards rushing. Toscano had a 3-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Chalmers and he had an 8-yard passing score to Tyrese Harris in the first half.
The Buccaneers piled up 528 total yards. Gerald Stevenson got the Buccaneers off to a 14-0 lead with touchdown runs of 7 and 17 yards in the first quarter.
Ivey Antwan scored on a 1-yard run in the third quarter and Michael Jefferson caught a 6-yard pass from Jordan Belser in the fourth for the Buccaneers.
The Tigers (1-4) got their only touchdown on a 16-yard run by Justin Babb, who had seven carries for 81 yards.
