HATTIESBURG, Miss. — The Associated Press has withdrawn its story about Southern Miss freshman punter Peter Wilkes dying in a gun accident Friday morning. The school announced that Wilkes had died, but Southern Miss officials and police now say Wilkes is alive. A substitute story will move shortly.
