Delaware beats Massachusetts 43-27
NEWARK, Del. — Pat Devlin threw four touchdowns and Delaware defeated Massachusetts 43-27 on Saturday night.
Devlin was 19 of 26 for 284 yards, throwing two passes to Mark Duncan.
Duncan finished with 106 yards on seven catches for the Blue Hens (4-2, 1-1 Colonial Athletic Association).
Delaware took a 20-0 lead in the first quarter, when Marcus Burley returned a fumble 42 yards for a touchdown.
Jon Striefsky kicked three field goals for the Blue Hens, setting a school record with 33 in his career.
The Minutemen (3-2, 1-1), who had a three-game winning streak snapped, scored all three of their touchdowns in the final 11:29 after Delaware built a 37-6 advantage.
Massachusetts’ Kyle Havens was 24 of 36 for 275 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Victor Cruz caught eight passes for 275 yards for the Minutemen.
