Sioux Falls defeats North Dakota, 28-13
GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Lorenzo Brown passed for three touchdowns and ran for another as Sioux Falls shocked North Dakota 28-13 Saturday in nonconference college football.
The defending NAIA national champions, Sioux Falls (7-0) ran its winning streak to 21 games. Despite that string, the result was surprising because North Dakota is a member of the Football Championship Subdivision.
Sioux Falls led 21-6 at halftime thanks to Brown, who connected for scoring passes of 7 yards to Scott LeBrun, 12 yards to Brad Theilen and 32 yards to Alex Anderson.
North Dakota answered with two field goals by Brandon Hellevang.
North Dakota (3-3) took the second-half kickoff and drove for a score when Jake Landry hit Ryan Konrath with a 21-yard touchdown pass. But the Cougars needed only four plays to regain their 15-point lead, with Brown running the final 5 yards.
