Troy rolls past North Texas 50-26
TROY, Ala. — Levi Brown threw for a school-record 469 yards as Troy remained unbeaten in Sun Belt Conference play with a 50-26 win over North Texas on Saturday.
Brown, who has been the Big South player of the week three of the past four weeks, made his case for another one as he moved to fourth on Troy’s career list for passing yards with 4,178. Brown broke Sim Byrd’s 41-year-old single-game record of 454 yards.
The Trojans (5-2, 4-0) are tied at the top of the conference with Louisiana-Monroe, which plays at Troy next week.
Brown threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to TeBiarus Gill and ran for a 6-yard score.
DuJuan Harris ran for 66 yards and two scores. Shawn Southward and Maurice Greer added rushing scores for Troy and defensive tackle Eugene Kinlaw recorded a safety.
Lance Dunbar scored on a 60-yard reception and a 69-yard run for North Texas (1-6, 0-4).
