Brown’s fourth-quarter touchdown pass lifts Liberty to 20-13 victory over Charleston Southern

Liberty defeats Charleston Southern 20-13
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Mike Brown threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Will Quarles with 3:40 remaining in the game to break a tie and lead Liberty to a 20-13 victory over Charleston Southern on Saturday.
Brown’s scoring pass capped a nine-play, 53-yard drive and helped the Flames (5-2, 2-0 Big South Conference) remain undefeated in the conference.
Liberty held a 13-0 lead before Charleston Southern (2-5, 0-2) rallied to tie the score at 13 on A.J. Toscano’s 11-yard pass to Kwame Krakue with 9:01 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Aldreakis Allen scored Liberty’s first touchdown on a 1-yard run for a 13-0 lead with 12:44 left in the second quarter.
Charleston Southern stiffened after that and held the Flames to 55 yards rushing on 30 carries.
Antwan Ivey led the Buccaneers with 82 yard rushing on 20 carries.
Toscano was 12-for-28 for 156 yards.
