Butler knocks off Campbell 23-16
BUIES CREEK, N.C. — Andrew Huck passed for 214 yards and two touchdowns to help Butler remain undefeated with a 23-16 victory over Campbell on Saturday.
Huck threw a 22-yard scoring pass to Zach Watkins and a 1-yard pass to Dan Bohrer as the Bulldogs (7-0, 4-0 Pioneer Football League) jumped out to a 20-0 lead. Huck was 22-for-30 and led Butler with 56 yards rushing on six attempts.
Campbell (1-6, 0-4) cut the lead to 20-13 on Daniel Polk’s 9-yard pass to CJ Oates and Adam Willets’ two field goals, but Butler added another field goal for a 23-13 lead with 6:27 left in the game.
Willets kicked a 37-yard field goal to cut the lead to 23-16 with 3:08 remaining.
Polk finished with 63 yards on 15 carries and went 15-for-31 for 161 yards to lead Campbell.
Watkins finished with five catches for 54 yards.
