Savannah State defeats Edward Waters 45-24
SAVANNAH, Ga. — Justin Babb rushed for 167 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead Savannah State to a 45-24 victory over Edward Waters on Saturday.
Babb scored touchdowns of 57, 23 and 10 yards and caught a 52-yard scoring pass from Kurvin Curry as the Tigers (2-6) broke their six-game losing streak. Babb also caught three passes for 89 yards to help Savannah State finish with 485 yards of offense.
Curry, making his first start in three games, was 13-for-26 for 234 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for 64 yards and a 10-yard touchdown on 21 carries.
Edward Waters (0-9) took a 12-7 lead in the first quarter, but Savannah State led 14-12 at halftime before scoring 21 third-quarter points for a 35-24 lead.
Cesary Wilborn threw for 181 yards and two touchdowns and Brandon Turman added 116 yards passing and a score for Edward Waters.
