MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Garrett Clawson kicked three field goals and Raphael Johnson rushed for 115 yards to lead Robert Morris to a 9-7 win over Sacred Heart on Saturday.
Clawson made field goals from 23, 35 and 35 yards away to give the Colonials (2-6, 2-3 Northeast Conference) a 9-0 advantage in the fourth quarter. Johnson, who finished with 27 carries, led a Robert Morris ground game that totaled 202 yards rushing.
The Pioneers (1-7, 1-5), who were held to 1 yard on the ground, cut the Colonials’ lead to 9-7 with 5:28 left in the game when Dale Fink connected with Steve Tedesco on a 7-yard touchdown. But Sacred Heart was unable to get the ball back as Robert Morris ran out the clock.
Jeff Sinclair threw for 39 yards and rushed for 40 yards for the Colonials.
Sacred Heart’s Fink was 12-for-23 passing for 117 yards and finished with three interceptions.
