Redskins place Portis on IR, had concussion Nov 8
ASHBURN, Va. — The season is over for Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis, who has not played since his concussion a month ago.
The Redskins placed Portis on injured reserve Tuesday after he had another round of tests by a specialist in Pittsburgh.
Portis was hurt in a helmet-to-helmet hit against Atlanta on Nov. 8 and has missed four games. Coach Jim Zorn said last week that Portis continued to experience dizziness doing certain things.
Front office chief Vinny Cerrato says the team expects Portis to make a full recovery and return to the Redskins.
Portis’ season ends with a career-low 494 yards rushing on 124 carries and one touchdown. He also caught nine passes for 57 yards and a touchdown.
