Redskins QB Campbell returns after shoulder injury

LANDOVER, Md. — Washington Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell was temporarily sidelined during Monday night’s game against the New York Giants with a sprained shoulder.

Campbell was hurt when he was sacked from behind by defensive end Osi Umenyiora with 45 seconds remaining in the first half. Todd Collins finished the half, but Campbell returned after the break.

Campbell was 2 for 7 for 10 yards when he was injured. The Redskins trailed 24-0 at the time and had only one first down.

Collins’ first pass was a 46-yard completion to Santana Moss.

Redskins right tackle Stephon Heyer left in the first half with a knee injury, and receiver Devin Thomas sprained his ankle early in the third quarter.
