MEXICO CITY — Salvador Cabanas, the Paraguay soccer player who was shot in the head last month in a Mexico City bar, is being moved out of intensive care as he continues his remarkable recovery.
The doctor who has cared for Cabanas since he was shot point-blank said on Wednesday that the star of Mexico club America would be moved to a private room.
The main suspect in the case, Jose Jorge Balderas, is still at large. The Mexico City attorney general’s office has said it will ask Interpol, the international police agency, for help in tracking down Balderas.
