Its just like a fat Indian wedding full of colour and fervour, said Atul Agnihotri, a young engineer, who had come to visit the match along with his office colleagues.

Varun Gandhi, an ardent fan of KKR, said: “I really dont know that what is going on in the field as I am only busy in dancing since I have entered the stadium. Its all very entertaining and Ganguly hitting boundaries in the backdrop of maddening music is really relishing.”

Nitin Pal, another IPL fan, said: Whoever wins the game, it does not matter to us. We are taking at as a cricket carnival and we certainly want such matches to happen more frequently.

With huge presence of police officials, many cricket fans grumbled about the unwarranted security checks.
