Memorial service planned for slain FIU student
MIAMI — Students and faculty at Florida International University will gather to remember Kendall Berry, the running back stabbed to death outside the school’s recreation center.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Monday afternoon on the FIU Modesto A. Maidique campus.
In a statement, FIU called Berry “exceptionally talented on and off the field,” adding that he was kind, full of promise, and made a mark on the community.
The education major was killed Thursday after authorities say he and suspect Quentin Rashad Wyche got into a verbal dispute. Wyche turned himself in to police Friday.
