WELLINGTON - New Zealand is planning to play three Twenty20 matches against Sri Lanka in Florida next month.

New Zealand Cricket has been in talks with their American counterparts on a medium to long-term plan to play regular games there.

The proposed dates for the first series are May 20, 22 and 23, straight after the world Twenty20 championship in the Caribbean, the New Zealand Herald reports.

The final sign-off is awaiting financial clarification to ensure NZC aren’t going to be out of pocket.

New Zealand Crickey CEO Justin Vaughan expects the final decision on the series to be made within a week. (ANI)

I landed in USA just 12 years back and trying to find Cricket game. But after lot of studies/efforts I came to know Americans are not playing cricket and i do not think they will play cricket ever. Main sports in this country is Football (i.e. International Rugby) 40% , then baseball 35%, Baseball - 20%. 5% rest of other game. Even Soccer (i.e. International football) only 4% of Americans watch Soccer. While talking about Cricket, most of them never heard of this game. One person who know about Cricket told me , this Game is Brits and their colonies game and not our cup of tea. Eventuall, i too lost interest. I do not think even 10/10 over game they will adopt. They have their own style.
