LONDON - Non-league AFC Aldermaston lost 40 games in a row before securing a 1-1 draw over the weekend against Warminster Town for their first point of the season. uring their wretched campaign Aldermaston, rock bottom of the Wessex League Division One nine levels below the Premier League, have conceded more than 150 goals, reports The Telegraph.
“Morale has been good. The players want to win games and compete we just hope we can turn it around and have a good end to the season. We should have won our last two games so there has been a definite improvement,” said their coach.
Aldermaston will play next season in the Hampshire Puma League after also becoming the first team in the country to be relegated but the players and management are desperate to secure a win before the season ends next month. (ANI)
