ALAMEDA, Calif. — A person with knowledge of the trade says the Oakland Raiders have acquired quarterback Jason Campbell from the Washington Redskins.

The person within the league said Saturday the deal had been completed. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the trade had not been announced. It was not immediately clear what the Raiders gave up for Campbell.

Campbell started 52 games for Washington since being a first-round pick in 2005. He has thrown for 55 touchdowns, 38 interceptions and has a passer rating of 82.3 in his career. He became expendable in Washington after the Redskins traded for Donovan McNabb.

The Raiders were looking for an upgrade at quarterback after former No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell got benched last season.
