England declared world’s most football mad country

LONDON - A new research has declared England as the most football-made country in the run-up to next month’s FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

According to the Daily Star, the Heineken research reveals English blokes spend more time talking about, watching, reading or playing football than any other nation.

A typical British football nut watches matches for two hours and 22 minutes, either in full or in the form of highlights, every week.

They also spend 28 minutes daily chin-wagging about the latest results, tackles, goals or transfer gossip.

In second place was Thailand, where men spend three hours talking about the beautiful game, followed by three-time World Cup winners Brazil in third.

Rick Lawrence, marketing manager for Heineken UK, said: “It might not be the news that women want to hear but it seems that men really do think of only one thing - football.”

The study of 5,300 men aged between 25 and 40 spanned 15 countries. (ANI)
