LONDON - Eyeing the next season’s Champions League, Manchester City are considering a 65 million pound double swoop for Barcelona pair Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Yaya Toure.

The club’s manager, Roberto Mancini, who has worked with Ibrahimovic at San Siro, wants to make sure the team never misses out on Champions League football glory again.

This summer is Mancini’s first chance to revamp City since taking over as boss, as he has targeted Swedish striker Ibrahimovic, who Barca are prepared to sell for 50 million pounds.

“Carlos Tevez has talked about being unhappy at City and may look to force his way out this summer, while Mancini is prepared to allow Emmanuel Adebayor to leave. It would be a massive change at the club, but Mancini has the backing of his Middle-East owners,” Daily Star reports.

Garry Cook, the Chief Executive of Manchester City, is currently in Spain and holding talks with various clubs bosses, including the sporting director of Barcelona, Txiki Begiristain.

Defensive midfielder Yaya Toure is also being looked at along with 28-year-old Ibrahimovic, as central defender Kolo Toure has talked to Mancini about bringing his brother to the club. (ANI)
