Saints’ Shockey says he’s healthy, happy
METAIRIE, La. — Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey says he’s mostly healthy, and happy to be practicing again.
He joined the team for practice on Saturday. He sat out Friday’s morning practice because of back spasms, but participated in the afternoon.
Last week, Shockey was taken to the hospital after his muscles seized up in the New Orleans Saints’ weight room for about a minute. The episode frightened teammates and sent trainers scrambling to his aid.
While Shockey says he’s not interested in discussing the episode, he says he left the hospital with “good news.”
Now he says he’s focusing on getting back in shape.
