SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- Game 6 of the NBA Finals clash between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics turned out to be much less closely fought than anticipated. The game which could have sealed the Finals for the Boston Celtics turned out quite a nightmare for the team. The first disappointment for the Boston Celtics came in the form of Kendrick Perkins going down with a knee injury. Slow motion videos showed the injury could be really threatening for the Boston Celtics who will depend on his for the next crucial game. Kendrick Perkins is an important defender for the Boston Celtics who already showed a weak defense during game 6.

Game 6 was dominated by the Los Angeles Lakers from the very beginning. The 1st quarter saw them finish 10 points in the lead and by the half time they were almost unreachable at 20 points ahead of the Boston Celtics. They were led by Kobe Bryant who finished with 26 points with 11 rebounds. He was well assisted by Pau Gasol who capitalized on Kendrick Perkins’ absence and finished with 17 points with 13 rebounds and 9 assists. It was Shannon Brown though who gave the final blow to the Boston Celtics hopes by scoring two fantastic dunks in the 2nd half. The final scores, 67-89, showed the inability of the Boston Celtics to play under pressure and the Los Angeles Lakers resilience. Kendrick Perkins’ absence was also felt when Pau Gasol went through the defense again and again.

The win now takes the Finals to game 7 where the Los Angeles Lakers will come in with winning momentum. As for the Boston Celtics, it will be a hard job to keep the likes of Kobe Bryant away from the basket without Kendrick Perkins in the team.
