Brazil leads Ivory Coast 3-0 after 75 minutes

JOHANNESBURG — Luis Fabiano scored two goals and Elano added another to give Brazil a 3-0 lead over Ivory Coast at the World Cup following 75 minutes of play at Soccer City.

Luis Fabiano put the five-time champions in front in the 25th minute, getting a through ball from Kaka and sending a hard shot past Ivory Coast goalkeeper Boubacar Barry. He added the second in the 50th, beating Siaka Tiene and shooting past Barry.

Replays appeared to show Luis Fabiano handled the ball, possibly twice, on the second goal.

Elano scored in the 62nd, but was helped off the field after injuring his leg a bit later.

Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba struggled to get involved, but he still had the team’s best chance when he headed wide a cross from Aruna Dindane in the 54th minute.
