All 3 bid cities selected as finalists in race to host 2018 Winter Olympics

All 3 bid cities make cut for 2018 Winter Games

LAUSANNE, Switzerland — All three bid cities have made the list of finalists in the race to host the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The bids from Annecy, France; Munich; and Pyeongchang, South Korea, all made the cut Tuesday after a review by the International Olympic Committee.

The three are now classified as official candidate cities.

The IOC will select the 2018 host city at its session in Durban, South Africa in July 2011.

Pyeongchang, bidding for a third consecutive time, is seen as the front-runner.
