Psychic Paul Knew Germany Would Lose!

OBERHAUSEN, Germany (GaeaTimes.com)- Psychic Paul had already foreseen the loss of Germany in the second semifinals of the World Cup. Now if you are thinking who Psychic Paul is, he is a two year old octopus housed at the Sea Life Aquarium. Reports claim that this octopus, named Paul, has not only given the correct prediction this year but has been doing the same for a long time now, since the Euro games of 2008, and more shocking is the fact that his predictions have been wrong only once!
Though this piece of news may sound ridiculous or even annoying to a hardcore German fan, the national team footballers do take Psychic Paul seriously. More so because the octopus has made all the right predictions in every game played by Germany in World Cup 2010.
The question is how does Psychic Paul take his pick of the winner in any game? Oliver Walenciak, speaking on behalf of the Sea Life Aquarium says that two glass boxes, one containing the flag of Germany and the other containing the flag of the team that Germany is playing against is placed in front of the octopus, inside the aquarium where he lives. The box in which Psychic Paul puts his tentacles is the box which has the winning flag. Interestingly, Paul the Octopus had picked Spain instead of Germany as the winner of yesterday’s match and since then the Octopus fever has caught on in the country. Several German television networks had canceled their scheduled programs to feature the video of Psychic Paul taking his pick of Spain over Germany.
